David: Sticker Mosaic Artist

David is a self-taught artist who discovered his distinctive sticker mosaic technique at age 26, shortly after being diagnosed with Type 2 Bipolar Disorder. What began as a personal outlet for processing complex emotions has evolved into a meticulous artistic practice that has garnered recognition throughout San Diego.
David's unique approach involves the patient placement of thousands of individual stickers—each representing a moment of emotional processing—to create richly detailed mosaics. His works typically center around human subjects, carefully composed to create a dynamic viewing experience that pulls observers into a visual dance: first toward the focal image, then into the intricate details of the sticker work, and finally back to appreciate the cohesive whole.
The deliberate spacing between stickers in his compositions represents both visual separation and the psychological space between thoughts and emotions. This technique has become his signature method for transforming personal experiences into vibrant visual narratives.
David's talent has been recognized with three first-place awards at the San Diego County Fair Fine Art Competition (2017, 2022, 2023). At 41, he continues to expand his artistic presence in the San Diego community, creating works that invite viewers to engage with both technical precision and emotional depth.
